Overview

The Uncategorized Entries review helps you quickly identify and reclassify transactions posted to uncategorized accounts. Based on your configuration, Xenett pulls transactions from mapped uncategorized accounts and groups them in a structured way to make reclassification fast and accurate.

Enable the Review Point

If the review point is not already added:

1. Click New

2. Click Task/review Point and Select Uncategorized Entries from the library

3. Click Add

If it is already added, simply click on the review point to open it.

How to Interpret the Review Results

When you open the Uncategorized Entries review, you’ll see transactions pulled from the uncategorized accounts you have configured.

  • Transactions are grouped into vendor-based blocks, not shown randomly or by date

  • Each block represents all uncategorized transactions for a single vendor

  • A lightbulb or suggestion indicates that Xenett has a recommended account based on historical coding

If a vendor appears here, it means their transactions are currently posted to an uncategorized account and need review.

Recommended Actions

Based on what you see in the review, you can take the following actions:

  • Reclassify transactions by selecting the correct account for a vendor block and clicking Save

  • Bulk reclassify multiple transactions for the same vendor in one click

  • Use smart suggestions when available, or override them if needed

  • Review vendor history to see how similar transactions were coded in the past

  • Ask questions to your client or leave internal comments if clarification is required

How the Uncategorized Entries Review Works

Step 1: Configure Uncategorized Accounts

By default, Xenett automatically maps commonly used uncategorized accounts such as:

  • Uncategorized Expense

  • Ask My Accountant / Ask My Client

You can update this configuration at any time. Transactions are pulled into this review based on the accounts that are mapped.

Step 2: Review Vendor-Based Blocks

Instead of showing transactions in date order, Xenett:

  • Groups transactions into blocks by vendor

  • Displays all related transactions together

This makes it easier to review and reclassify transactions without jumping between scattered entries.

Step 3: Reclassify Transactions

  • Select a vendor block (for example, Home Depot or Amazon)

  • Choose the correct account (for example, Office Supplies)

  • Click Save

If a vendor has multiple transactions, all of them are reclassified in one click.

Smart Suggestions

In some cases, Xenett displays a suggested account based on historical coding.

Tip: Smart Suggestions
These suggestions are based on past transactions and are optional and editable. You can accept the suggestion, change it, or choose a different account before saving.

View Vendor History

To review past activity for a vendor:

  • Click on the vendor's name

  • Xenett displays all historical transactions for that vendor

This helps you quickly understand how similar transactions were coded previously.

Ask Questions

If clarification is needed:

  • Click Ask Question to message your client
