Updating Project Details

Learn how to update project details in Xenett after a project is created, including editing the project title, description, due date, and project manager.

Updated over a month ago

Once a project is created, you may need to adjust certain details. Xenett allows you to update key project information directly from the Project Details panel.

Use Cases

Updating project details is useful when:

  • The project title or description changes after creation

  • A due date needs to be added, modified, or removed

  • A different team member needs to be assigned as the project manager

  • You want changes to apply only to the current project or also to future recurring projects

How to Access Project Details

  1. Open the project.

  2. Click on the project title.

  3. The Project Details panel will appear.

  4. The field has its own edit icon that allows you to update that specific detail such as:

  • Project Title

    • Update the title as needed.

    • The updated title will apply to all the project of a recurrence series

  • Description

    • Modify the description as required.

    • The updated title will apply to all the project of a recurrence series

Start Date

  • Update the project start date as needed.

  • This change applies only to the current project.

Due Date

  • Manage the due date directly from the project header.

  • You can add, update, or remove the due date.

  • This change applies to the current project only and does not affect future recurring projects.

Accounting Period Update

  • The accounting period can be updated for one-time projects only.

To update the accounting period:

  1. Click the project title.

  2. Use the edit icon next to the accounting period to change or update it.

Manager

  • Update the project manager from the project header.

  • Assign any eligible team member as the project manager.

  • Choose whether the change applies to:

    • This project only, or

    • This project and future recurring projects

Important Notes

  • For one-time projects, there are no future projects, so changes automatically apply only to the current project.
