Create Views for Projects

This article explains how Project Views help you organize and track projects by saving commonly used filters.

Updated over a month ago

Overview

Project Views allow you to create and save custom views of your projects based on filters you use often. These views help you quickly focus on the right set of projects without repeatedly applying the same filters.

You can create Project Views for:

  1. Projects assigned to you that are due this week

  2. Projects marked as Waiting on Client

  3. Any custom combination of project filters you need

Where Are Project Views Used?

Project Views can be accessed from two places, and the data displayed depends on where you open the view:

  • Project at Firm Level
Shows projects across the entire firm based on the applied filters.

  • Project inside a Client
Shows only the projects related to that specific client, using the same saved view rules.

The same view logic applies in both places, but the data adjusts automatically based on context.

How to Create a Project View

  1. Click the List button at the top of the screen.

  2. Choose an existing view or click + Create View.

  3. Customize the view by:

    • Applying filters

    • Sorting columns

    • Reordering columns

    • Showing or hiding completed projects

  4. Click Save View.

  5. Give the view a meaningful name (for example, My Open Projects).

The Project View is now saved and ready to use.

View Types

When saving a Project List View, you can choose how the data is displayed:

  • List View – Displays projects in a structured list format

  • Board View – Displays projects in a board-style layout

Choose the view type that best fits how you prefer to track projects.

Access Settings

When saving a Project List View, you can also control who can see it:

  • Firm View – Visible to all users in the firm

  • My View – Visible only to you

Use Firm Views for standardized workflows and My Views for personal tracking.

Mark a List View as Default

If there is a view you want to open every time you log in:

  1. Open the view.

  2. Select Mark as Default.

Note : This will be user specific
