White Labelling / Custom Branding

Learn how to white‑label your client portal.so clients only see your branding, not Xenett’s.

Updated over a month ago

Overview

White labelling in Xenett allows you to fully brand the client portal with your firm’s domain, email address, logo, and visuals—so clients only see your branding, not Xenett’s.

This guide covers how to:

  • Set a custom client portal URL (subdomain)

  • Customize the “From” email address and sender name

  • Configure DNS (CNAME) records

  • Upload portal and login page branding

Set a Custom Client Portal Domain

By default, the client portal is hosted on https://portal.xenett.com. If you want to use your own domain, you can configure a custom client portal URL.

  1. Go to Settings → Questions / Client Portal

  2. Click Edit under Custom Domain

  3. Enter the subdomain you want to use

Format
{subdomain}.{your-website-domain}

Example
portal.yourdomain.com

Notes

  • The subdomain can be anything (portal, clients, login)

  • The root domain must be your actual website domain

4. Click Save

Once saved, Xenett will generate multiple CNAME records. These records must be added to the DNS settings of your domain provider to activate the custom domain.

Configure DNS (CNAME Records)

After setting the custom domain, you must add the generated CNAME records to your domain’s DNS settings.

How to Add CNAME Records

1. Log in to your domain hosting provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap).

2. Navigate to DNS Records.

3. Click Add New Record.

4. Select CNAME as the record type.

5. Copy values from Xenett:

Host → paste into DNS Host field

Value → paste into DNS Target/Value field

6. Save the record.
Repeat this process for all generated CNAME records (usually 4–5 records).

Verification

  • Status will initially show as Pending

  • DNS propagation can take a few hours and up to 24 hours in some cases

Once the records are active, your client portal will be accessible via your custom domain.

Different domain hosting providers may display DNS settings differently. Below are common providers where you can add CNAME records:

Customize the From Email Address

By default, client notification emails are sent from clientnotifications@xenett.com. You can replace this with an email address from your own domain.

  1. In Custom Branding, edit the From Email Address

  2. Enter the email prefix (domain is selected automatically)

Examples

  • notifications@unicornaccounting.com

  • donotreply@unicornaccounting.com

Important

  • This inbox must exist

  • Otherwise, emails may fail or go to spam

Set a Custom From Name

The From Name is what clients see in their inbox.

Examples

  • Unicorn Accounting

  • Client Notifications

  • Questions – Unicorn Accounting

This applies to all reminder and notification emails.

Customize Portal Branding

Dashboard Cover Image

  • Appears at the top of the client dashboard

  • Replaces the default Xenett image

Login Page Image

  • Shown on the right side of the login page

  • Updates immediately after upload

Firm Logo

  1. Go to Firm Information

  2. Upload your firm logo

Your logo appears across client-facing areas.

Final Result

Once configured:

  • Clients access the portal via your branded URL

  • Emails are sent from your domain and sender name

  • Portal visuals match your firm branding

  • No Xenett branding is visible
