Grouping Data

Single-Level Grouping

To group transactions by a specific field:

  1. Click and drag a column header (e.g., "Vendor") to the grouping area at the top of the table

  2. All transactions will now be organized by that column's values

Multi-Level Grouping

You can create multiple layers of organization:

  1. First, drag your primary grouping column (e.g., "Vendor") to the grouping area

  2. Then drag a secondary column (e.g., "Account") to further subgroup the data

  3. Your data will now be organized hierarchically by both fields

Sorting Data

To sort data within any column:

  • Click on the column header

  • Click once for ascending order

  • Click again for descending order

Rearranging Columns

To change the order of columns in your table:

  • Click and drag any column header to a new position

  • Release to drop it in place

Customizing Column Visibility

To control which columns are displayed:

  1. Access the column visibility menu

  2. Toggle columns on or off based on your needs

  3. For example, you can hide "Debit" and "Credit" columns and display a single "Amount" column instead

Filtering Data

To exclude specific data from your view:

  1. Click on the filter icon for the column you want to filter

  2. Set your filter criteria to exclude unwanted values

  3. For example, if transaction splits show both the main account and sub-accounts (like Accounts Payable), you can filter to hide the Accounts Payable lines

This keeps your view focused on only the data you need to see.
