Overview

Task Custom Fields allow you to store additional, firm-specific information on tasks and use that data for filtering, tracking, and reporting.

Instead of relying only on default fields like task name, due date, or assignee, Task Custom Fields let you add meaningful context that reflects how your firm operates.

Use Cases

Task Custom Fields are especially useful when:

  • Different teams need to track different attributes

  • Firms want more granular reporting

  • Task details must be standardized across clients

  • Internal processes vary by service type

Managing Task Custom Field Settings

You can create and manage Task Custom Fields by navigating to:

  • Settings β†’ Custom field β†’ Custom Task Field tab

Task Custom Fields are managed centrally, ensuring consistent task data across projects, tasks, and reports.

Creating a Task Custom Field

When creating a Task Custom Field, you define several key properties:

  • Field Name – The label your team will see

  • Field Type – Text, dropdown, number, date, or checkbox

Task Custom Fields are managed centrally, allowing firms to maintain consistency across projects, tasks, and reports. By defining custom fields once, the same structured information can be captured consistently throughout the system.

One of the biggest advantages of Task Custom Fields is their use is they can be used as:

  • Filters

  • Grouping options

  • Data points within reports
