Project Types and Statuses

Learn how project types, and statuses work in Xenett to organize client work and standardize workflows.

Updated over a month ago

Overview

Xenett uses Project Types and Statuses to organize client work consistently. Project types define the kind of work, while statuses define the stages it goes through.

Statuses are managed centrally and reused across project types. When setting up a project type, you choose which statuses apply to the project and its tasks. When a project is created using that type, only those relevant statuses are available, keeping workflows clear and aligned with the intended process.

Say you’re working on a Monthly GST Filing project—you might set statuses like Client Data Pending, Data Received, and Filing in Progress. But a Quarterly Audit will look different, with statuses such as Data Preparation and Review in Progress.

Use Cases

  1. Standardize workflows across similar types of work

  2. Maintain clear and consistent progress tracking

How to Create a Project Type

  1. Go to Settings → Project Settings → Project Types.

  2. Click Add Project Type.

  3. Enter the project type name.

  4. Map existing or create new statuses For both project and task

  5. Click on Create

Users must select a status for both “Not Started” and “Completed” categories.

Any new status created during this process is automatically added to the Master Status module and can be reused across other project types.

Master Project Status Module

The Master Status module serves as the central repository for all statuses, where you can manage every status.

Navigate to: Settings → Project Settings → Custom Statuses
